Avant-garde

This project explores the use of everyday objects and scenes in the art movements of the 1920s and 30s. I worked from well-known images, freely borrowing from themes, subject matter, and compositions while attempting to impart an aesthetic and meaning of my own.  The resulting series provides a modern-day update to classic works while giving insight into my day-to-day existence.
