Notes:
This self-portrait is the first of a series that I completed for the final project of a photography class. I developed the work from an earlier assignment requiring students to produce three portraits using a process, aesthetic, etc., differing from their usual style. I created posed self-portraits based on the work of Irving Penn. I shot the photographs digitally in color and converted them to black and white in post. For the final project, I expanded this to include the work of Richard Avedon and finished with a total of nine self-portraits. Overall, the series turned out well. However, additional tweaks and edits are needed. In this photo, the left eye needs a little finessing.
