Untitled, Oakland, California, 2013.

Notes:

This image has a lot of pixelation. I’m guessing the JPEG format struggled to compress the solid blue areas within the designated file size, but it may have been the expired film or the thirty-year-old camera that was hardly a “sure shot” even when new. Due to this image and others like it, I purchased a used film scanner on eBay. The photo labs’ Noritsu and Frontier scanners are superior to anything I can afford. However, with so little effort put into the scanning process, I strongly suspect I can get better results at home, even with inferior technology. Furthermore, the rates charged by the photo labs for film scanning are so high that I should see reduced costs. Of course, the trade-off is a lot of elbow grease.
