Notes:
I’ve taken short photo walks in the late afternoons for the past two days. It feels great to get back into the swing of things and stretch my legs a little. However, I took more pictures of the inside of my camera bag than I care to admit.
My goal is to build on last winter’s golden and blue hour photographs but with a digital camera. Generally speaking, the pictures didn’t look very good, but I was shooting in brighter light.
I admire the work of Gueorgui Pinkhassov, Harry Gruyaert, and Alex Webb and would like to incorporate more of their aesthetic into my work. In this image, I crushed the shadows and cranked the colors. I also cropped quite a bit, which I usually try to avoid. While not as painterly as I would like, it’s a solid start.
