Notes:
I originally shot this photo as part of the color assignment. During the plasticity lecture, the professor discussed the concept of “push and pull” in painting. A week later, I was still feeling lost and confused. So, I pulled out the gouache and spent a couple of days studying Hans Hofmann’s Goliath. The following day, I went on a walk to shoot some photos for class, and this was the result. I didn’t see the similarity when I took the photo, but I recognized it immediately when I imported the images into Lightroom. Initially, I included the sidewalk in front of the store but cropped it out at the professor's suggestion. I definitely prefer it this way.
