This photo was a test of Kodak T-Max 400. It is a modern black-and-white film with minimal grain. My experience indicated it had significantly more latitude than Agfa APX 400 and ORWO Wolfen UN54. Furthermore, it was sharper and more contrasty, with less preservation of middle gray tones. I saw T-Max 400 used to good effect in a photo with an antique, rusty, industrial-sized wheel in a dark setting. The film did an excellent job of preserving the texture and dark tones of the rusty wheel while remaining sufficiently sharp.
